Orlando swaps blueliners with AHL affiliate
ORLANDO, Fla. – The Orlando Solar Bears have announced that rookie defenseman Ty Stanton has been reassigned to the club by the Toronto Marlies, Orlando’s American Hockey League affiliate, while defenseman Brenden Miller has been recalled to Toronto.
Stanton, 21, has registered three assists and 10 penalty minutes in 14 games for the Solar Bears this season. He has also skated in three games with Toronto.
Miller, 22, returns to the Marlies where he tallied the game-winning goal in his AHL debut on Feb. 20 in a 4-2 victory over the Binghamton Senators, his lone appearance with Toronto this season. The second-year pro leads Orlando’s blueline with 26 points (11g-15a) and 70 penalty minutes in 46 games this season.
The Orlando Solar Bears continue their fifth season of ECHL hockey when they host the Utah Grizzlies at the ARS.com Rink at Amway Center on Friday, March 10 at 7 p.m.
