Dr. John A. Ruder, MD - Orthopedic Surgery, Sports Medicine
Rothman Orthopaedics at Winter Park
Dr. John Ruder is a fellowship trained sports medicine physician specializing in all facets of sports related injury prevention and treatment. He graduated from the University of Florida with a bachelor's degree in Biology and subsequently earned his medical degree from the University of Central Florida. He completed an orthopaedic residency at Carolinas Medical Center, followed by a sports medicine fellowship with E. Lyle Cain, MD, Jeffery R. Dugas, MD, Benton A. Emblom MD, and James R. Andrews, MD at the American Sports Medicine Institute (ASMI) in Birmingham, Alabama.
Dr. Ruder has particular interest in hip preservation. Non-arthritic hip preservation surgeries include arthroscopic treatment of femoroacetabular impingement (FAI), labrum repair/reconstruction, endoscopic gluteus medius and proximal hamstring repair, as well as mini-open treatment of core muscle injury (sports hernia). Additionally, he treats sports related injuries of the shoulder and knee.
Dr. Ruder has previously provided on-site medical coverage for Tuskegee University, SEC Baseball Tournament, Birmingham Barons, Birmingham Ballet, and Vestavia Hills High School. His research interests include sports medicine and hip preservation, having published numerous articles on these topics. In addition, he has presented his research at multiple local and national orthopaedic conferences.
Dr. Ruder utilizes a team approach to patient care, leading his patients’ treatment planning and ensuring thorough communication across all medical team members.
Dr. Jason M. Epstein, MD - Sports Medicine (Non-Surgical)

Dr. Epstein is a board certified physician specializing in sports medicine. He completed his residency in family medicine at Inspira Healthcare Network in Woodbury, NJ and followed with a sports medicine fellowship at Halifax Health. He has served as a team physician for the Cincinnati Reds minor league affiliate Daytona Tortugas, Bethune Cookman University, Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, Daytona State College, Legacy Dance Studio, and several local high schools. He has previously worked with SpaceX to perform exercise treadmill testing for cardiovascular evaluation.
His areas of expertise include physical fitness and the treatment and prevention of musculoskeletal injuries. He is fellowship trained in musculoskeletal ultrasound for both diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. In addition, he is skilled in the management of sports-related concussion. He is active in research and has particular interest in core muscle and overuse injuries along with injury prevention.
Dr. Epstein is a native of New Jersey and grew up in Cherry Hill. He holds memberships among a number of professional societies, including the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine, the American College of Sports Medicine, and the American Academy of Family Physicians.
Dr. Kirk Solberg, DMD - Official Team Dentist of the Orlando Solar Bears
Dr. Solberg graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1992 from the University of Florida College of Dentistry in Gainesville, Florida. While attending, he was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon honorary dental society, earned multiple leadership awards, served as class president for 3 years, and was presented with the American College of Dentists Award for outstanding ethics and professionalism.
After graduating in 1984 from the first class at the new Lake Mary High School in Lake Mary, FL, Dr. Solberg received his B.A. Cum Laude degree from St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN with a double major in Chemistry and Norwegian language. While there he strengthened his love of hockey as a member of the student section Blue Line Club.
Dr. Solberg is a member of the American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, Dental Society of Greater Orlando, International College of Oral Implantologists, and a past president of the University of Florida College of Dentistry Alumni Association. He has served as Assistant Scout Master and Chaplain for his son’s Boy Scout troop, a board member for Seminole County Young Life, a board member and camp chef for Central Care Mission, and is currently an elder at Northland Church in Longwood, FL.
Completing his first year as the team dentist for the Orlando Solar Bears 2023-24 hockey season re-ignited his love for the game, but his favorite aspect of his role was getting to know the players, coaches, and staff.
Dr. Aaron Isler - Official Endodontist of the Orlando Solar Bears
Orlando Endodontic Specialists
Dr. Aaron Isler attended Michigan State University and the University of Michigan , School of Dentistry where he received his DDS degree. He then attended the University of Florida , School of Dentistry where he received his Endodontic certification and a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Oral Biology. He also completed an Endodontic fellowship at the University of Florida.
Dr. Isler has done extensive research on rotary files and the effects of endodontic irrigants on microbial growth. Dr. Isler had his research published in two articles in the Journal of Endodontics. Adjunct clinical professor at the University of Florida School of Dentistry, Department of Endodontics.
Dr. Timothy Temple - Official Endodontist of the Orlando Solar Bears

- Graduated University of Pittsburg School of Dental Medicine, D.M.D. Degree
- Served as a general dentist in the U.S. Navy Dental Corps
- Attended Tufts University School of Dental Medicine for endodontic specialty
training
Dr. Temple has practiced endodontics with Orlando Endodontic Specialists for the past 11 years. Dr. Temple is a leader in the use of lasers in endodontics and lectures internationally on numerous topics in the endodontic field. He is also the Vice President of the Florida Association of Endodontists as well as being the President of the Dental Society of Greater Orlando.
Dr. Temple has another great accomplishment which is being published in the Journal of Endodontics.
Scott A. Wenk - DDS, MD
Dr. Wenk is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He received his BS degree from the University of Richmond, his DDS degree from the Medical College of Virginia, an MD degree from the University of Florida and he completed his residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery at the University of Florida. Dr. Wenk also completed a general surgery internship at the University of Florida. He is a member of the American Medical Association and the Florida Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He is also a Fellow in the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology and a Diplomate of the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology. In addition, Dr. Wenk serves as a consultant to the Children’s Medical Services Cleft Palate Clinic.
