The Ice Crew plays an important role in creating an exciting and safe game day experience for players, officials and fans. Working during every stoppage in play, the Ice Crew helps maintain the quality of the ice surface by shoveling snow buildup, repairing divots and ensuring optimal skating conditions throughout the game.

Beyond ice maintenance, the Ice Crew serves as a key part of the entertainment presentation. Members assist with on-ice promotions, contests, giveaways and special ceremonies, helping keep fans engaged during breaks in the action. They work closely with arena operations, game presentation staff and the officiating crew to ensure smooth transitions between periods and events.

The Ice Crew must be energetic, professional and dependable, as they represent the team in front of thousands of fans. Their hard work behind the scenes and on the ice helps deliver a first-class hockey experience from puck drop to the final horn.

We are recruiting for part-time, game night staff for the Orlando Magic, Osceola Magic, and Orlando Solar Bears.  Whether you are a college student, a teacher with a flexible schedule, someone looking to re-enter the workforce, or someone just looking for additional income, our part-time, event roles could be perfect for you.

What our Part-Time hiring process is like: While every position is different, our part-time hiring process is typically a two-step process, sometimes more depending on the nature of the role.  After you apply, your resume will be reviewed by our hiring manager for that particular role.

After interviews have been conducted, candidates whom the hiring manager selected will be contacted by our Talent Acquisition team.  Candidates who are not selected to move forward will be contacted via email.  We would love to call 100% of the candidates, however we typically interview well over 250 candidates during this part-time hiring week, and we want to give every candidate the decision as soon as possible.

A quick summary about the Part-Time Solar Bears Ice Crew role: Ice Crew assist with on-ice promotions and ice maintenance during promotional timeouts at all home games.  Ice skating experience required.

 What the position will be responsible for: 

  • Shovel the ice during all promotional time outs
  • Assist Floor Managers with all on-ice promotions during intermissions
  • Attend pregame production meeting
  • All other duties as assigned.

  What is required for the role:

  • Ice skating experience required.
  • Ice rink maintenance experience preferred.

Applicants should dress in clothes that are best for skating. You are required to provide your own Ice Hockey skates for the duration of the season. 

Figure skates are not permitted.

Physical requirements

  • Must be able to ice skate with hockey skates.
  • Must be able to lift 25+ pounds.
  • All candidates must be 18 years of age or older by Audition date.
  • Candidates must have reliable transportation to scheduled games.
