Solar Bears get Cameranesi back from Marlies

Rookie returns to Orlando from AHL recall

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Orlando Solar Bears have announced that rookie forward Tony Cameranesi has been reassigned to the club by the Toronto Marlies, Orlando’s American Hockey League affiliate.

Cameranesi, 23, returns to Orlando where he has 20 points (13g-7a) and 14 penalty minutes in 32 games. At the time of his recall on Jan. 1, Cameranesi was tied for the league lead in the rookie goal-scoring race, and would later be announced as Orlando’s representative for the 2017 CCM / ECHL All-Star Classic.

While in the AHL, Cameranesi tallied seven points (4g-3a) and eight penalty minutes in 28 games with Toronto.

The Maple Grove, Minn. native was a fifth-round selection (#130 overall) of the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.

Additionally, Orlando has released rookie goaltender Charlie Millen from his amateur try-out agreement, activated goaltender Ryan Massa from reserve and placed rookie forward Michael Turner on reserve.
