Orlando gets defenseman back from AHL Providence
ORLANDO, Fla. – The Orlando Solar Bears have announced that veteran defenseman Taylor Doherty has returned from his loan to the American Hockey League’s Providence Bruins.
Doherty, 26, returns to Orlando where he has 11 points (2g-9a) and 49 penalty minutes in 20 games this season. While with the Bruins, the 6-foot-7, 235-pound defenseman picked up two assists and 25 penalty minutes in 10 games.
The Orlando Solar Bears continue their fifth season of ECHL hockey when they host the Utah Grizzlies at the ARS.com Rink at Amway Center on Friday, March 10 at 7 p.m.
Friday’s game is also Star Wars Night. Throughout the game, fans will be able to enjoy character appearances from members of the Florida Garrison – 501st Legion and other fan groups, movie clips, music, trivia games and more!
