TONIGHT:The Orlando Solar wrap up a five-game stretch against the two top teams in the North Division when they face the Adirondack Thunder for the second and final time in the 2016-17 regular season.
PERRY SET TO SMASH SINGLE-SEASON SHOTS RECORD:With 197 shots on goal this season, Joe Perry is just three shots away from setting a new Solar Bears single-season record for shots on goal. The record currently belongs to Ryan Cruthers’ 199-shot effort during the 2012-13 campaign. Perry already boasts the club record for most goals in a single season, racking up his 33rd tally of the season on Sunday at Brampton.
FAILLE APPROACHES 200TH PRO GAME AND POINT:Eric Faille’s next game will be the 200th of the third-year pro’s career; while the forward has enjoyed his finest offensive production with the Solar Bears with 124 points (48g-76a) in 107 games, he has also skated with the ECHL’s Fort Wayne Komets and the AHL’s Texas Stars and Toronto Marlies.
BAIER MATCHES KESSEL’S ASSIST STREAK:Since March 17 at Florida, Eric Baier has earned an assist in his last six consecutive games. The Solar Bears captain has matched a club record for consecutive games with an assist by a defenseman, which he now shares with Blake Kessel, who first performed the feat in January of 2014. Baier is also now only three assists away from 100 in his professional career.
