TODAY:The Orlando Solar Bears conclude their regular season series with the Brampton Beast with a Sunday matinee meeting at the Powerade Centre. Orlando sits back in fourth place in the South Division, tied with South Carolina with 75 points, and only two points back of Greenville in second place (77 points) with a game in hand on the Swamp Rabbits. Orlando recorded its 237th goal of the season on Friday, surpassing the previous franchise mark of 236 set in 2014-15.
FAILLE CONTINUES TORRID MARCH:In nine games in the month of March, Eric Faille has been producing at a blisteringly-hot pace. The third-year pro has racked up 17 points (7g-10a) and has enjoyed five multi-point games while recording 38 shots on goal.
MASSA CONTINUES TO CLIMB INTO LEAGUE’S TOP 10:With his 34 saves in 65 minutes of action on Friday, Ryan Massa improved his save percentage to .912 on the season, good for 10th in the league and the second-best total among Eastern Conference netminders after Adirondack’s J.P. Anderson, who has dressed in 11 fewer appearances than Massa. Massa also recorded his 19th win of the season on Friday, matching his win totals from his rookie campaign in 2015-16.
STANTON CONTRIBUTING OFFENSIVELY:For the first time this season, Ty Stanton finds himself with points in back-to-back games, as he earned helpers in Orlando’s last two matches against Brampton. The rookie defenseman appears to have settled into a rhythm while paired with Eric Baier, who has assists in five consecutive games.
