TONIGHT:The Orlando Solar Bears go on the road to begin a nine-game road trip, as they first do battle with the Florida Everblades in a pair of Wawa Sunshine Cup Series games. Orlando picked up a valuable point in their last outing at Germain Arena, and broke through on the power play for the first time this season against the Everblades. Five of Orlando’s remaining 11 games are against Florida.
PERRY CARRIES TORCH AGAINST EVERBLADES:So far this season Joe Perry is one of two players to skate in all nine games against Florida; the other being Chase Witala. In nine games, Perry leads the Solar Bears against the Everblades with seven points and four goals.
HOT START KEY TO VICTORY AGAINST EVERBLADES:The Solar Bears lead the Eastern Conference with 68 goals and 744 shots on goal in the first period; a quick start in the game’s opening 20 minutes against Florida will be essential to come away with two points.
CAMERANESI HAS CHANCE TO BECOME ROAD WARRIOR AGAIN FOR ORLANDO:When Tony Cameranesi last skated in a road game for the Solar Bears, it was during Orlando’s 10-game road trip in December. Over those 10 games, Cameranesi demonstrated the skill that led to a selection to represent the Solar Bears at the ECHL All-Star Game, as he recorded 10 points (6g-4a) over that span.
MILLEN ADDED:With Kasimir Kaskisuo recalled earlier in the week to the Toronto Marlies, Orlando has signed Charlie Millen. Millen, 24, had previously joined the Solar Bears on an Amateur Try-Out Agreement earlier this month.
