Conacher and Marchment recalled to Toronto, Orlando signs Turner to SPC
ORLANDO, Fla. – The Orlando Solar Bears have announced that forward Eric Faille and defenseman Brenden Miller have been reassigned to Orlando by the club’s AHL affiliate, the Toronto Marlies. Additionally, rookie forwards Shane Conacher and Mason Marchment have been recalled to Toronto. Furthermore, the Solar Bears have signed rookie forward Michael Turner to a Standard Player Contract.
Faille, 27, returns to the Solar Bears where he leads the team in scoring with 42 points (16g-26a) and 24 penalty minutes through 38 games this season. He has also added one goal and two assists in 11 games played with Toronto this season.
Miller, 22, returns to Orlando after making his AHL debut with the Marlies on Monday vs. Binghamton, in which he tallied the game-winning goal in Toronto’s 4-2 win over the Senators. Miller currently leads Orlando’s defensive corps with 22 points (8g-14a) and 66 penalty minutes in 41 games.
Conacher, 22, heads to Toronto for his first recall of the season after putting up nine points (1g-8a) in 12 games with the Solar Bears.
Marchment, 21, has logged 11 points (8g-3a) and 14 penalty minutes in 26 games with Orlando. He has also skated in six games with the Marlies, logging four penalty minutes.
Turner, 21, appeared in training camp with the Solar Bears, and has skated in 19 games this season with the Greenville Swamp Rabbits, registering four points (1g-3a) and 11 penalty minutes. Turner also appeared in 25 games with the SPHL’s Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs, where he logged 15 points (6g-9a) and 29 penalty minutes. Prior to turning pro, Turner suited up for 41 games with the OHL’s Oshawa Generals, where he accumulated 12 points (6g-6a) and 24 penalty minutes.
The Orlando Solar Bears continue their fifth season of ECHL hockey when they host the Atlanta Gladiators at the ARS.com Rink at Amway Center on Wednesday, Feb. 22 at 7 p.m.
