Forward to represent Solar Bears in Puck Control Relay event

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Orlando Solar Bears have announced that rookie forward Tony Cameranesi has been selected to represent the Solar Bears in the Great Meadow Federal Credit Union Skills Competition at the 2017 CCM / ECHL All-Star Classic presented by I LOVE NY.

Cameranesi, 23, will compete in the Puck Control Relay with fellow ECHL All-Stars Justin Crandall (Reading Royals), Matt Garbowsky (Colorado Eagles) and Shawn Szydlowski (Fort Wayne Komets) against Dennis Kravchenko, Peter MacArthur and Greg Wolfe of the host Adirondack Thunder. Cameranesi was previously announced last Tuesday that he would be Orlando’s representative at the 2017 CCM / ECHL All-Star Classic presented by I LOVE NY.

The former fifth round draft choice (#130 overall) of the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft is under contract this season with the American Hockey League’s Toronto Marlies, where he currently has one assist in three games after being recalled on Jan. 1. While on loan to the Solar Bears this season, he has recorded 20 points (13g-7a) and 14 penalty minutes in 32 games.

The All-Star Team will be comprised of the League’s top talent and prospects, showcasing the future stars of hockey s they develop in the ECHL. The game will air LIVE exclusively on NHL Network on Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2017, at 8 p.m. ET from the Glens Falls Civic Center in Glens Falls, N.Y.
