Each team has won a game so far.
BRADLEY NETS FIRST OF THE SEASON:Chris Bradley’s goal in Friday night’s game marked his first of the season – the rookie defenseman has started to round into form offensively over the last few weeks, logging five points (1g-4a) and recording a +3 while providing solid, two-way defense for Orlando.
CARRIER FINDING OFFENSIVE ABILITY:With assists in two straight contests, Alexandre Carrier has already doubled his career offensive output from his first stint with the Solar Bears in 2014-15. The forward also led Orlando with a +3 rating on Friday night.
GACEK LEADS THE WAY AGAINST ACES:Alex Gacek has been Orlando’s best weapon against Alaska through the first two games of the series. With four points (2g-2a) through two games, more than half of Gacek’s offensive output since joining the Solar Bears has come at the expense of the Aces.
BAIER THREE POINTS AWAY FROM CENTURY MARK:With an assist on Friday, Eric Baier brought his career totals in a Solar Bears uniform to 97 points (31g-66a). The defenseman is only three points away from hitting 100 career points with Orlando, which would allow him to join Jacob Cepis, Denver Manderson and Eric Faille as the only Solar Bears players to achieve the feat. Should Baier hit the mark, he will be the first blueliner in franchise history to do so.
