BEAR TRACKS:

Liambas Joins PredatorsFormer Solar Bears forward Mike Liambas was recalled from the AHL’s Milwaukee Admirals by the Nashville Predators on Saturday for his first-ever NHL recall. Liambas played 32 games with Orlando in the 2012-13 season, in which he posted nine points and 151 penalty minutes.

Bears Heating Up South DivisionThanks to its strong play, Orlando has posted the best record of any South Division team over its stretch of 10 previous games (7-2-1-0) and is now only seven points back of division leader Florida with one game in hand. Orlando is also only three points behind second place Atlanta with six games in hand.

Goal Scoring Production Remains HighThe Solar Bears still have maintained a strong offensive output, averaging 3.69 goals per game, good for fifth in the ECHL. The team continues to lead the league in shots per game, averaging 38.94 shots per game, over two more than second place Florida. Shot volume appears to be an early indicator of the team’s success: the Solar Bears are 8-3-1-0 when out-shooting their opponents.
