Kaskisuo earns first victory with Orlando

GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Orlando Solar Bears (3-3-1-0) rallied from behind 2-1 in the third period and Denver Manderson scored in overtime to give the team a 3-2 win over the Greenville Swamp Rabbits (3-3-0-0) on Friday night at Bon Secours Wellness Arena.

Orlando gained the first lead of the night late in the first period while on the power play as Patrick Watling flipped a saucer pass into the slot from the right circle and Eric Faille snapped a shot past the blocker of Jeff Malcolm at 16:25.
The Swamp Rabbits responded with two quick goals in the second period, as Ahti Oksanen recovered a missed shot that deflected off the glass and knocked it past Kasimir Kaskisuo at 10:29 to tie the score, and Greenville took the lead when Justin DaSilva blasted a shot from the left point above Kaskisuo’s glove at 11:50.
The Solar Bears tied the score in the third period when T.J. Foster knocked home a loose puck for a power-play goal at 9:06.
The game remained tied at the conclusion of regulation, sending the game to overtime. Manderson won it for Orlando after Brett Findlay made his way into the offensive zone and sent a pass back to Manderson at the left circle and the forward wired a wrist shot past Malcom at 1:19 of the extra period.
Kaskisuo earned his first win with Orlando by making 28 saves on 30 shots against; Malcolm took the overtime loss with 36 stops on 39 shots against.
