TONIGHT:The Orlando Solar Bears complete their only road trip of November with an evening matchup against the Atlanta Gladiators. Orlando is looking for its first victory against Atlanta this season after dropping 5-3 and 8-2 decision to the Gladiators at home last weekend. The Solar Bears have earned at least a point in all road games so far this season. Atlanta is coming off a 3-0 shutout victory over the Elmira Jackals on Friday night. With Cincinnati (eight points) and Greenville (seven points) idle, a victory or overtime/shootout loss for Orlando tonight could move the Solar Bears into third place in the South Division.
PERRY LEADS THE WAY:Forward Joe Perry leads the Solar Bears in goal scoring this season with three goals; all have come in Orlando’s two home games against Atlanta. Brett Findlay is tied with Perry for the team points lead against the Gladiators with three assists in two games.
UPDATE: A scoring change in Friday's game has retroactively removed an assist originally credited to Brett Findlay on Orlando's third period goal and instead credited the assist to Joe Perry, giving him sole possession of the team points lead against Atlanta with four points (3g-1a).
FINDLAY CONTINUES STRONG PLAYMAKING:Brett Findlay’s power-play assist on T.J. Foster’s game-tying goal on Friday gave Orlando’s leading point scorer his fourth assist on the man advantage for the season, good for third place behind Kalamazoo’s Dajon Mingo (6) and Rapid City’s Garrett Haar (5).
PENALTY KILL SURGING:So far on their road trip, Orlando has been a perfect 19-for-19 on the penalty kill. This has Orlando in a three-way tie for first place among road penalty killing units with Florida (one game, 1-for-1) and Wichita (two games, three-for-three).
