Rookie defenseman assigned to Orlando

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Orlando Solar Bears have announced that the team has been assigned rookie defenseman Jon Jutzi from Orlando’s American Hockey League affiliate, the Toronto Marlies.
Jutzi (YUT-zee), 25, is preparing for his first full season of professional hockey after suiting up in six games with the Manitoba Moose this past spring.
Prior to turning pro, the native of Tavistock, Ontario completed a four-year collegiate career at Minnesota State University – Mankato from 2012-16, where he helped the Mavericks capture WCHA titles in 2013-14 and 2014-15, and logged 44 points (9g-35) and 58 penalty minutes in 144 games. Jutzi was also a teammate of Solar Bears forward Johnny McInnis during his freshman and sophomore campaigns.
The Orlando Solar Bears continue their fifth season of ECHL hockey on Friday, Oct. 28 against the Atlanta Gladiators at the ARS.com Rink at Amway Center.
