SOLAR BEARS RECEIVE PLAYERS FROM MARLIES

Faille, Rodewald Reassigned from AHL Toronto; Baier Released from Marlies PTO

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Orlando Solar Bears, proud affiliate of the NHL’s Toronto Maple Leafs and AHL’s Toronto Marlies, have announced the Toronto Marlies have reassigned forwards Eric Faille and Jack Rodewald to the Solar Bears, while defenseman and captain Eric Baier has been released from his Professional Try-Out Agreement with the Marlies.

Faille, 26, returns to the Solar Bears as the team’s leading scorer and fourth in the ECHL with 39 points (17g-22a) and six penalty minutes in 35 games with Orlando this season. He has dressed in three games for the Marlies over the course of two stints in Toronto this season, recording one goal and one assist while in the AHL.

Rodewald, 21, returns to the Solar Bears following his third stint with the Marlies this season, in which he has recorded one assist and four penalty minutes in seven games with Toronto. He has played in 27 games with Orlando this season, recording 22 points (5g-17a) and 13 penalty minutes.

Baier, 27, suited up in one game for the Marlies while on loan to the Solar Bears’ AHL affiliate, recording an assist on Jan. 20. In 37 games with Orlando this season, Baier has logged 22 points (6g-16a) and four penalty minutes, and leads the Solar Bears in plus-minus at +10.

The Solar Bears conclude their season-high seven-game road trip when they face the Florida Everblades in a Wawa Sunshine Cup Series game as they continue their fourth season in the ECHL, presented by Auto Justice Attorney Michael T. Gibson, P.A., on Friday, Jan. 22 at 7:30 p.m. at Germain Arena. Fans can tune into the game on iHeartSolarBears.com or watch via ECHL.TV.

Orlando returns to the Amway Center to host the Manchester Monarchs for the first time in team history on Wednesday, Jan. 27 at 7:00 p.m.
