Solar Bears win ECHL Ticket Department of the Year

Team, staff named finalists for four other awards

ORLANDO, Fla. - The Orlando Solar Bears, proud affiliate of the NHL's Toronto Maple Leafs and AHL's Toronto Marlies, announced that the team was awarded the 2014-15 ECHL Ticket Department of the Year. The team was a finalist for the Marketing Department of the Year while President/CEO Jason Siegel was a finalist for Executive of the Year, V.P. of Ticket Sales and Service Scott Einhorn was a finalist for Ticket Executive of the Year, and Director of Public Relations and Broadcasting Bob Mills was a finalist for Broadcaster of the Year.

"We are certainly pleased that our organization and employees were recognized by their peers," said Siegel. "We have the best fans in the League and we work hard every day to offer them the best customer service and best game day experience possible."

The Solar Bears welcomed 9,288 fans to the 2015 ECHL All-Star Classic, the game's highest attendance since 2000 and the third-largest crowd in the event's history. During the 2014-15 regular season, Orlando had its three largest group nights in the team's history while increasing ticket revenue for Faith and Family Night, Hockey Fights Cancer Weekend, and Military Appreciation Weekend. The Solar Bears finished the regular season fourth in the ECHL in attendance and finished first in average attendance during the Kelly Cup Playoffs for the second consecutive season.

The Solar Bears ticket sales department, led by Scott Einhorn, was comprised of Mark Nolte, Justin DeRazza, Chris Carmichael, Stephanie DiMuro, Doug Perri, Erin Croce, Jake Ninko, and Dylan Tell.

This marks the third straight season that Siegel finished as finalist for Executive of the Year and the third straight season that Mills has finished as a finalist for Broadcaster of the Year after winning the award following the 2011-12 season. The Solar Bears were recipients of the 2012-13 ECHL Award of Excellence following their "Out of Hibernation" season and were finalists for Ticket Department of the Year following the 2012-13 season as well.

The Orlando Solar Bears, the ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Toronto Maple Leafs and AHL's Toronto Marlies, play all of their home games at the 2012 Street and Smith's Sports Business Journal Sports Facility of the Year, the Amway Center.
