ORLANDO, Fla. - The Orlando Solar Bears, ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League’s Tampa Bay Lightning, announced today the club has agreed to terms with veteran forward Brandon Saigeon (Say-Jin) to a contract for the 2026-27 season.
Saigeon, 28, joins the Solar Bears after leading all Reading Royals forwards in scoring last season, recording a new career-high, 39 points (14g-25a).
The Grimsby, Ontario native has appeared in 321 ECHL games over six seasons with the Utah Grizzles, Wheeling Nailers, Kalamazoo Wings, Wichita Thunder, Indy Fuel, Savannah Ghost Pirates, and Reading Royals. The 6-foot-1, 190-pound forward has tallied 142 points (45g-97a) with 144 penalty minutes in his ECHL career.
Saigeon was selected by the Colorado Avalanche in the fifth round, 140th overall, in the 2018 NHL Draft.
Prior to turning pro, Saigeon played five seasons in the Ontario Hockey League with the Belleville Bulls, Hamilton Bulldogs, and Oshawa Generals. He served as an alternate captain for two seasons, helping the Bulldogs capture the OHL Championship in 2018.
