ORLANDO, Fla. – The Orlando Solar Bears, ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League’s Tampa Bay Lightning, announced today the club has agreed to terms with forward Kobe Walker to a contract for the 2026-27 season.
Walker, 28, joins the Solar Bears after establishing himself as a dynamic offensive contributor at the professional level. The Lloydminster, Alberta native recorded 37 points (14g-23a) in 47 games with Aalborg Pirates of Metal Ligaen (Danish top professional league).
In 93 career ECHL career games with the Wichita Thunder, Walker tallied 82 points (38g-44a), 18 penalty minutes, and a plus-32 rating. During the 2024-25 season, Walker was tied for fifth in the ECHL with 30 goals and his 66 points was 11th most in the league that season.
The 5-foot-10, 172-pound right winger played five seasons of college hockey at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), wearing a letter in his final two seasons. His best college season came in 2022, where as captain he finished fifth on the team with 23 points. In total, Walker compiled 80 points (40g-40a) in 142 career NCAA games.
Walker also enjoyed standout junior seasons with his hometown Lloydminster Bobcats of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) from 2016-2018. In 121 games over three seasons, he posted 107 points (46g-61a), leading the Bobcats in points in both the 2016-17 and 2017-18 seasons.
