ORLANDO, Fla. – The Orlando Solar Bears, ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Tampa Bay Lightning, announced today the Tampa Bay Lightning have reassigned goaltender Harrison Meneghin to the American Hockey League's (AHL) Syracuse Crunch from the Orlando Solar Bears. Additionally, the Solar Bears have released forward Eric Olson.
Meneghin, 21, has appeared in 14 games for the Solar Bears this season, posting a 4-9-0 record, 3.26 goals against average, and a .889 save percentage.
The 6-foot-3, 177-pound native of Surrey, BC played the 2024-25 season for the WHL Champion, Medicine Hat Tigers, posting a 23-9-2 record with a .901 save percentage. His 14-1 record during the playoffs earned him WHL playoff most valuable player.
Meneghin was selected by the Lightning in the seventh round, 206th overall, in the 2024 NHL Draft.
Olson, 26, has appeared in 13 games with the Solar Bears this season recording three assists, 12 penalty minutes, and a plus-2 rating.
In 25 games this season for the Knoxville Ice Bears of the SPHL, scoring 11 points (4g-7a) with 50 penalty minutes and a plus-7 rating. In 78 career SPHL games over two seasons with Knoxville, the Calgary, Alberta native tallied 28 points (12g-16a) and accumulated 88 penalty minutes.
