Solar Bears sign forward Karl El-Mir

ORLANDO, Fla. — The Orlando Solar Bears have agreed to terms with forward Karl El-Mir on an ECHL Standard Player Contract for the 2022-23 season.

El-Mir, 26, has suited up for the Indy Fuel, Greenville Swamp Rabbits, and the Norfolk Admirals of the ECHL. Last season during his second stint with the Fuel, he tallied 21 points (10g-11a) in 37 games played.

Prior to turning pro, the 6-foot-1, 194-pound forward logged 62 points (28g-34a) in 118 games over four seasons with the University of Connecticut.

Before entering the college ranks, the native of Greenfield Park, Quebec played Junior A in the British Columbia Hockey League with the Salmon Arm Silverbacks, and with the Grande Prairie Storm of the Alberta Junior Hockey League.
