ORLANDO, Fla. — The Orlando Solar Bears have announced the signing of forward J.M. Piotrowski to an ECHL Standard Player Contract.
Piotrowski (pih-TROW-skee), 26, has two assists with the Peoria Rivermen of the Southern Professional Hockey League this season.
Piotrowski has 22 points (4g-18a) in 68 career SPHL games with Peoria, Birmingham and Huntsville. He also appeared in three games with the Solar Bears during the 2019-20 season.
Prior to turning pro, the 6-2, 190-pound forward skated played four seasons of collegiate hockey with Yale University, where he collected 10 points (5g-5a) in 70 games for the Bulldogs program.
The native of Naperville, Ill. played in the United States Hockey League for Sioux Falls and the Fargo Force, capturing the Clark Cup championship with Sioux Falls in 2015. In 47 career USHL games, Piotrowski racked up 14 points (5g-9a) and 46 penalty minutes. He also skated in the North American Hockey League for the Bismarck Bobcats and Wichita Falls Wildcats, where he generated 21 points (13g-8a) and 101 penalty minutes in 40 games.
