ORLANDO, Fla. — The Orlando Solar Bears have announced that six former players have been named to NHL Opening Night rosters and taxi squads as the NHL opens its 2020-21 season tonight, highlighted by Orlando’s affiliate, the defending Stanley Cup champion Tampa Bay Lightning, hosting the Chicago Blackhawks at Amalie Arena at 7 p.m.
The NHL has created taxi squads consisting of between 4-6 players per team, including a minimum of one goalie, that will practice and travel and be available in case a team needs to recall a player on short notice. All taxi squad players are subject to waiver rules, if eligible.

Two players, goaltenders Zachary Fucale and Connor Ingram have yet to make their NHL debuts. Three players, forward Mason Marchment and goaltenders Christopher Gibson and Darcy Kuemper, have already made their NHL debuts after first appearing in an ECHL games with the Solar Bears. Forward Ryan Reaves played for Orlando during the 2012-13 season after previously making his NHL debut.
