ORLANDO, Fla. – The Orlando Solar Bears have announced the team has acquired rookie forward Mathieu Foget from the Florida Everblades in exchange for future considerations. Additionally, Orlando has released forward Alexandre Ranger.
Foget (FOH-geht), 21, has one goal and two penalty minutes through two games this season with Florida. The 5-foot-11, 185-pound forward turned pro with the Allen Americans last spring, posting one goal in two regular season contests before adding two points (1g-1a) in seven postseason matches.
Prior to turning pro, the Orleans, Ontario native played major junior hockey for the Mississauga Steelheads and Ottawa 67’s of the Ontario Hockey League, where he racked up 94 points (34g-60a) and 27 penalty minutes in 100 games. Foget also played at Merrimack College, where he accumulated 16 points (6g-10a) and 10 penalty minutes in 47 games.
Ranger, 23, appeared in two games with Orlando to begin the 2018-19 season and tallied one assist and five penalty minutes.
