Valleau to return to Solar Bears, Novak recalled to Marlies

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Orlando Solar Bears have announced defenseman Nolan Valleau has been released from his Professional Try-Out Agreement with the AHL’s Chicago Wolves and will return to Orlando. Additionally, forward Max Novak has been recalled by the Toronto Marlies, Orlando’s AHL affiliate.

Valleau, 25, will return to Orlando after skating in seven games with Chicago. The third-year pro originally signed his PTO with the AHL club on Jan. 31. At the time of his loan to the Wolves, Valleau’s 30 points (8g-22a) in 36 games for the Solar Bears was tied for sixth in scoring among ECHL defensemen. The blueliner was also Orlando’s representative at the 2018 CCM/ECHL All-Star Classic in January, where he won the hardest shot competition with a 97 mph shot.

Novak, 26, is currently third in team scoring for the Solar Bears with 43 points (15g-28a) and 24 penalty minutes. The third-year pro could make his Marlies debut as early as Saturday, March 3, when Toronto hosts the Rochester Americans.

The Solar Bears return to action tonight as they host the Reading Royals for the first time in three seasons at the ARS.com Rink at Amway Center at 7 p.m. Single-game tickets for the 2017-18 season are now on sale at the Amway Center box office and ticketmaster.com.
