ORLANDO, Fla. – The Orlando Solar Bears have announced a pair of trades: Orlando has acquired veteran forward Chris Francis from the Quad City Mallards to complete the future considerations portion of the Sept. 21 transaction that sent Tristan King to Quad City; the Solar Bears have subsequently dealt Francis along with rookie forward Michael Turner and a future consideration to the Wheeling Nailers in exchange for forward Hunter Fejes.

Fejes (FEE-jihs), 23, has already produced 27 points (16g-11a) and 38 penalty minutes in 32 games with Wheeling this season. His 16 goals led Wheeling and is currently tied for the third-highest goal total in the ECHL.

The second-year pro has skated in 80 career ECHL games with Wheeling and the Rapid City Rush, totaling 65 points (34g-31a) and 58 penalty minutes. The 6-foot-1, 192-pound Fejes has also appeared in 29 American Hockey League games with the Springfield Falcons and Tucson Roadrunners, tallying five points (1g-4a) and 23 penalty minutes.

Prior to turning pro, the Anchorage, Alaska native played four seasons of collegiate hockey with Colorado College, recording 56 points (26g-30a) and 95 penalty minutes in 138 games for the Tigers program.

Fejes was a sixth-round selection (#178 overall) of the Phoenix Coyotes in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.

The Solar Bears visit the Florida Everblades tomorrow, Jan. 3, in a Wawa Sunshine Cup Series game at Germain Arena at 7:30 p.m. Orlando returns home to host the Jacksonville Icemen at the ARS.com Rink at Amway Center on Sunday, Jan. 7, at 1:30 p.m. Single-game tickets for the 2017-18 season are on sale at the Amway Center box office and ticketmaster.com.
