Dupuy, Dzierkals recalled to Marlies

Forwards earn their first AHL call-ups of season

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Orlando Solar Bears have announced that forwards Jean Dupuy and Martins Dzierkals have been recalled by the Toronto Marlies, Orlando’s American Hockey League affiliate. The transactions represent the first AHL call-ups of the season for both players.

Dupuy, 23, is tied for fourth in team scoring on the Solar Bears with 19 points (7g-12a) and 17 penalty minutes in 23 games. The third-year pro was originally assigned to Orlando on Oct. 9.

Dzierkals, 20, was assigned to the Solar Bears on Nov. 15 and has produced 13 points (6g-7a) and 20 penalty minutes in 15 games for Orlando this season. The rookie was a third-round selection (#68 overall) of the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.

The Solar Bears continue their season-high 10-game road trip when they take on the Norfolk Admirals at the Norfolk Scope on Friday, Dec. 15 at 7 p.m.

The Solar Bears return home to face the Norfolk Admirals on Wednesday, Dec. 20 at the ARS.com Rink at Amway Center at 7 p.m. Single-game tickets for the 2017-18 season are on sale at the Amway Center box office and ticketmaster.com.
