Solar Bears stumble in second period against Swamp Rabbits

ORLANDO, Fla – The Orlando Solar Bears (2-5-1-0) surrendered a 2-1 lead in the first period, while the Greenville Swamp Rabbits (6-3-1-0) received goals from seven different skaters and potted three goals in the period to seize control, as Orlando fell by a 7-2 score on Tuesday night at the ARS.com Rink at Amway Center.

  • J. Piccinich netted the first shorthanded goal of the season for the Solar Bears when he stole the puck at the defensive blueline, made his way through the neutral zone and snapped a shot past Brandon Halverson at 5:43 of the first period.
  • Max Novak’s power-play goal at 15:42 gave Orlando a 2-1 lead and was his second consecutive game with a goal.
