Novak, Dupuy score for Solar Bears in 4-2 loss to Everblades

ORLANDO, Fla – The Orlando Solar Bears (2-4-1-0) used a two-goal second period to rally from a 2-0 deficit, but surrendered two more goals in the third period as the Florida Everblades (8-1-0-0) dealt the home team a 4-2 loss on Saturday night at the ARS.com Rink at Amway Center.

• Max Novak got Orlando on the board when he sped down the left wing and roofed a backhand shot over Martin Ouellette’s shoulder at 16:17 of the second period for his second tally of the season.
• Jean Dupuy got his first of the season at 18:52 shortly after a cross-checking penalty to Florida’s Brett Bulmer had expired. Dupuy corralled a rebound from Chris Crane at the right side of the net and snuck it through a seam between Ouellette and the post to tie the score at 2-2.
• Chris Crane’s assist on Dupuy’s goal gave him a team-leading eight points (3g-5a) through seven games.
• Mike Vaskivuo had the secondary helper on Dupuy’s goal, giving him three a three-game assist streak (3a). Vaskivuo also led the Solar Bears with six shots on goal.
• Cal Heeter logged an assist on Novak’s goal and took the loss with 18 stops on 22 shots against.
