TONIGHT: The Solar Bears (6-8-3-0) begin their season-high 10-game road trip with their third meeting in seven days against the Jacksonville Icemen (3-11-1-0). Orlando currently owns a 2-0-1-0 record against Jacksonville on the season.
PICCINICH BREAKING THE ICE: Rookie forward J.J. Piccinich has consistently found the back of the net in meetings against the Icemen this season. The 2014 Toronto Maple Leafs draft pick has scored a goal in each of Orlando’s three games against Jacksonville, including the overtime-winner on Oct. 14.
VALLEAU CREDITED WITH ADDITIONAL ASSIST: A score correction following Sunday’s game has subsequently awarded Nolan Valleau with the secondary assist on Jean Dupuy’s third period goal, giving the defenseman a three-game assist streak heading into tonight’s match. Valleau is second among ECHL blueliners with 17 points (6g-11a) in 17 games, behind only Colorado’s Matt Register.
EXTRA TIME: As the Solar Bears approach the quarter pole in the 2017-18 season, the team has seen almost a third of its games go to overtime. Orlando is tied with South Carolina for the Eastern Conference lead with six overtime games this season. The Solar Bears have won three of their games that have gone beyond regulation – two of Orlando’s six overtime games came against Jacksonville.
