TODAY: The Solar Bears (2-5-1-0) face the Greenville Swamp Rabbits (6-3-1-0) for the second time this week. Last season, Orlando hosted its first-ever School Day Game against Greenville, and came away with a 7-4 win in Drake Berehowsky’s first game back behind the bench for Orlando after returning to coach the team.
CONTAINING McPHERSON KEY: The Solar Bears will look to shut down Allan McPherson, who leads the ECHL in scoring with 18 points and registered two assists on Tuesday against Orlando.
FIRST PERIOD STRIKE: The Solar Bears have their best goal differential in the first period, with 10 goals for and seven against on the season. Additionally, Orlando holds a 2-0-1-0 record when leading after the first period.
VALLEAU CONTINUING CLIMB: Nolan Valleau’s assist on Tuesday continues to help the defenseman climb the ECHL points leaderboard for defensemen – the third-yeard pro has only been held without a point twice this season, and his seven points (2g-5a) is tied for the fifth-highest point total by a defenseman this season.
