The Solar Bears will look to claim the trophy from the Everblades by earning the most standings points in head-to-head competition during the 2017-18 regular season. TONIGHT: The Solar Bears (2-3-1-0) face the Florida Everblades (7-1-0-0) in the second game of the week after receiving a point from Wednesday’s 4-3 overtime loss.

STEPAN LEADING BEARS IN ASSISTS: In his last four games, Zach Stepan has catapulted himself to the top of the team leaderboard with five assists; those totals are also good enough to tie for the fourth-highest assist total of any rookie in the ECHL so far this season.

RANKIN PLAYS FIRST OF SEASON: After beginning the season on reserve, Kyle Rankin played his first game of 2017-18 on Wednesday as Orlando’s 10th forward, and also saw time on the team’s penalty kill unit.

KING FINDING OFFENSIVE GAME: With two goals in his last three games, Jeff King is one of six ECHL rookie blueliners to find the back of the net at least twice.

STREAKS:

  • Nolan Valleau – 4-game point streak (2g-3a)
  • Josh Winquist – 4-game point streak (2g-2a)
  • Mike Vaskivuo – 2-game assist streak (2a)

MILESTONE TRACKER:

  • Joe Perry – needs 1 goal for sole possession of third place in franchise history (tied with Jacob Cepis and Brady Vail with 35)
  • Mike Monfredo – needs 4 points for 150 career pro points
  • Josh Winquist – needs 2 goals for 50 career professional goals

AFFILIATE NOTES: The Toronto Marlies (7-3-0-0) head south to face the Hershey Bears at 7 p.m., while the Toronto Maple Leafs (8-6-0-0) face the St. Louis Blues at 7 p.m.

NEXT GAME: The Solar Bears welcome the Greenville Swamp Rabbits to Orlando for the first time this season on Tuesday, Nov. 7 at 7 p.m. as the Solar Bears celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week; the team will be collecting school supplies during the game.
