Jeff King joins Solar Bears training camp roster

Defenseman assigned to Orlando by Toronto Marlies

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Orlando Solar Bears have announced the addition of rookie defenseman Jeff King to its training camp roster, after King was reassigned to Orlando by the Toronto Marlies, Orlando’s American Hockey League affiliate.

King, 21, is preparing for his first full season of professional hockey after joining the Solar Bears late last season following the completion of his major junior career with the Sarnia Sting of the Ontario Hockey League. The 5-foot-10, 171-pound blueliner skated in three regular season contests and four postseason games for the Solar Bears. King was named to Orlando’s Season-Ending Roster in June, and earned an AHL contract from the Marlies over the summer.

Orlando’s training camp roster now consists of 15 players who had agreed to terms on an ECHL contract, one on assignment from the Marlies and five attending on a try-out basis.
