North Carolina native skated in 2015-16 on AHL contract with San Diego, maintained over point-per-game production in ECHL with Utah
ORLANDO, Fla. — The Orlando Solar Bears, proud affiliate of the NHL’s Toronto Maple Leafs and AHL’s Toronto Marlies, have announced that the club has agreed to terms with forward Bryan Moore for the 2016-17 season.
“Bryan is coming off a strong rookie season and we expect him to be even more effective this coming season,” Solar Bears head coach Anthony Noreen said. “He will add scoring ability and physicality to our lineup every night.”
Moore, 22, spent his rookie year in professional hockey within the Anaheim Ducks development system on an AHL contract with the San Diego Gulls. In 29 games with the Gulls, Moore logged seven points (2g-5a) and 35 penalty minutes.
Moore also skated in 19 games with San Diego’s ECHL affiliate, the Utah Grizzlies, where the 6-foot-0, 199-pound winger added 23 points (8g-15a) and 42 penalty minutes. During his time with Utah, Moore was named the Sher-wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week for Nov. 23-29.
“I’ve heard nothing but great things about Orlando,” Moore said. “I’m excited to play in front of the best fans in the league and become a part of such a great community and organization.”
Prior to turning pro, the Indian Trail, N.C. native played major junior hockey from 2012-14 with the Sarnia Sting and Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds of the Ontario Hockey League. Moore logged 141 points (59g-82a) and 255 penalty minutes in 181 career OHL games. During the 2013-14 campaign Moore was a teammate of current Solar Bears forward Patrick Watling while on the Greyhounds.
Moore also spent time with the Sioux Falls Stampede of the United States Hockey League, accumulating 36 points (17g-19a) and 101 penalty minutes in 92 games.
