ORLANDO, Fla. — The Orlando Solar Bears, proud affiliate of the NHL's Toronto Maple Leafs and AHL's Toronto Marlies, have announced that Jesse Liebman has been hired as the team’s new Director of Communications and Broadcasting. Liebman will oversee the organization’s public relations efforts and assist with creative, social media and sales, in addition to calling Solar Bears games on iHeartRADIO.com and WKMG Local 6.
“We are very pleased to welcome Jesse to our Solar Bears family,” said Bears CEO, Jason Siegel. “He has nine years of experience dating back to his time as an intern with Stan Fischler leading up to his most recent role with the Ontario Reign (ECHL). We’ve always been impressed with his work with the Reign and believe he’ll make a positive impact.”
Liebman comes to Orlando after spending the past three seasons with the Ontario Reign as the team’s play-by-play broadcaster, in addition to holding various roles within Ontario’s communications and sales departments. The Croton, N.Y., native is an alumnus of Emerson College in Boston, Mass.
“Since their ‘Out of Hibernation’ 2012-13 season, the Solar Bears have been a premier member of the ECHL,” said Liebman. “I am grateful for this opportunity and I am eager to get started.”
The Orlando Solar Bears, the ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Toronto Maple Leafs and AHL's Toronto Marlies, play all of their home games at the 2012 Street and Smith's Sports Business Journal Sports Facility of the Year, the Amway Center.
