Solar Bears clinch spot in 2015 Kelly Cup Playoffs

ORLANDO, Fla. - The Orlando Solar Bears, proud affiliate of the NHL's Toronto Maple Leafs and AHL's Toronto Marlies, clinched a spot in the 2015 Kelly Cup Playoffs with a 1-0 win over the Florida Everblades at the Amway Center on Thursday night.

Tickets for the first round matchup, presented by Auto Justice Attorney Michael T. Gibson, P.A., against the Florida Everblades will go on sale to the general public on Tuesday, April 14, at 10:00 a.m. Fans can purchase tickets online at www.OrlandoSolarBearsHockey.com and www.Ticketmaster.com or at the Amway Center Box Office. Specific ticket information for Orlando Solar Bears Season Ticket Members will be distributed on Friday, April 10.

The Solar Bears win tonight put them out of reach of the Greenville Road Warriors and locked Orlando into fourth place in the ECHL's East Division. Florida has secured the top spot in the East, setting up a first round matchup between the in-state rivals. Each round of the Kelly Cup Playoffs will be decided by a Best-of-Seven series.

Game 1 of the series will take place at the Germain Arena in Estero, FL, at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, April 17, with the two teams facing off again for Game 2 in South Florida on Saturday, April 18, at 7:00 p.m.

The next three games will be played at the Amway Center in Orlando, FL, on the following dates:

• Tuesday, April 21, at 7:00 p.m.
• Thursday, April 23, at 7:00 p.m.
• Saturday, April 25, at 7:00 p.m. (if necessary)

Games 6 and 7 (if necessary) are scheduled to be played at the Germain Arena on Monday, April 27, and Wednesday, April 29, both at 7:30 p.m. The winner of the series will face the winner of the South Carolina Stingrays vs. Reading Royals matchup.

The Orlando Solar Bears, the ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Toronto Maple Leafs and AHL's Toronto Marlies, play all of their home games at the 2012 Street and Smith's Sports Business Journal Sports Facility of the Year, the Amway Center.
