Goaltender acquired for future considerations
ORLANDO, Fla. - The Orlando Solar Bears, proud affiliate of the NHL's Toronto Maple Leafs and AHL's Toronto Marlies, announced that they have acquired G Joe Howe from the Rapid City Rush in exchange for future considerations.
Howe (6-0, 195 lbs.) has played in 15 games for the Rapid City Rush, Utah Grizzlies, and Reading Royals this season, earning a 6-4-2 record with a 3.61 GAA and .878 save percentage. He split last season, his first as a pro, with the Cincinnati Cyclones and Missouri Mavericks (CHL). Howe collected a 10-3-4 record, 2.78 GAA, and .907 save percentage in 18 games with the Cyclones and 3-2-1 record, 2.52 GAA, and .915 save percentage in in seven games with Missouri.
Prior to joining the professional ranks, Howe completed four seasons (2009-13) with Colorado College, finishing his career with eight shutouts, a 54-51-10 record, 2.97 GAA, and .905 save percentage. He was named to the WCHA All-Rookie Team in 2009-10, and the WCHA All-Academic Team in 2010-11, 2011-12, and 2012-13.
