ROSS MacKINNON ADDED TO ORLANDO ROSTERChristopher Gibson Recalled to TorontoOrlando, FL - The Orlando Solar Bears, proud affiliate of the NHL's Minnesota Wild and Toronto Maple Leafs and AHL's Iowa Wild and Toronto Marlies, announced today that they have agreed to terms with G Ross MacKinnon and G Christopher Gibson has been recalled to the Toronto Marlies (AHL). MacKinnon (6-0, 185 lbs.) has appeared in nine games with the Pensacola Ice Flyers of the SPHL (Southern Professional Hockey League) this season, going 6-1-1 with a 2.27 GAA and .918 save percentage. He has also played 10 games this year in the Central Hockey League (CHL) with the Tulsa Oilers, posting a 2-2-2 record with a 3.93 GAA and .860 save percentage. MacKinnon split last season, his first as a pro, between the Bloomington Blaze (CHL) and Pensacola, including posting a 1.24 GAA and .956 save percentage in seven games with the Ice Flyers while winning an SPHL Championship and being named to the SPHL All-Rookie Team. Before joining the professional ranks, MacKinnon played four seasons (2008-12) for Nuemann College (NCAA-III). In his four seasons, the native of Manchester, CT, posted a 42-26-10 record with six shutouts, a 2.72 GAA, and .909 save percentage. As a rookie in 2008-09, MacKinnon went 16-7-2 with two shutouts and was named the NCAA-III All-Tournament Team and NCAA-III Frozen Four MVP. Gibson has played in 10 games with the Solar Bears this season, going 3-5-1-1 with a 2.97 GAA and .891 save percentage. In three games with the Toronto Marlies this year, Gibson has posted a .946 save percentage and 1.68 GAA (both team-leading numbers) along with a 2-1-0 record.
