ORLANDO, Fla.  The Orlando Solar Bears, proud affiliate of the NHL's Minnesota Wild and Toronto Maple Leafs and AHL's Iowa Wild and Toronto Marlies, announced today that they have acquired F Mickey Lang from the Fort Wayne Komets in exchange for F David Rutherford and future considerations.

Lang (5-9, 185 lbs.) has notched 17 goals along with nine assists for 26 points in 24 games this season. He leads the Komets in goals while his 26 points places him second on the club. Last season, as a member of the Quad City Mallards (CHL), he finished second in the league with 41 goals, fourth with 83 points, and seventh with 42 assists in 64 games. That year, he was named to the CHL All-Star Team and was selected to the All-CHL Team. He made his professional debut in the 2011-12 season with Quad City, picking up 40 points on 19 goals and 21 assists.

Prior to joining the professional ranks, Lang skated four seasons (2007-11) at Manhattanville College (NCAA D-III), tallying 47 goals and 46 assists for 93 points in 88 games. He had his best statistical season in 2009-10 when he knocked home 22 goals and added 16 assists for 38 points in 26 games. That year, he was named the NCAA D-III West Player of the Year and an NCAA D-III All-American.
