Solar Bears announce Season-Opening Roster

ORLANDO, Fla. - The Orlando Solar Bears, proud affiliate of the NHL's Minnesota Wild and Toronto Maple Leafs and AHL's Iowa Wild and Toronto Marlies, announced today that defenseman Eric Baier has been named the Captain for the 2013-14 Orlando Solar Bears. For home games, defenseman Cody Wild andforward Ian Slater will serve as Alternate Captains and forwards Tyler Murovich and Kory Nagy have been designated as Alternate Captains for road games. The captains were voted on by their teammates.

"We have a very strong locker room when it comes to their character and leadership," said Head Coach Vince Williams.

Baier is entering his third full professional season after appearing in 35 American Hockey League (AHL) games and 113 ECHL games in his first two seasons. Baier played four seasons at Providence College before turning pro and was named to the Hockey East All-Academic Team in 2009-10.

The Orlando Solar Bears start the 2013-14 season this weekend including their Home Opener on Saturday, October 19, at 7:00 p.m. at the Amway Center. Their Season-Opening Roster includes 23 players:
