PATRICK KILLEEN STOPS 43 SHOTS IN 4-0 SHUTOUT WIN OVER GREENVILLEThe Two Teams Rematch Tomorrow NightClick here to view the box score Orlando, FL - Goaltender Patrick Killeen turned aside 43 shots, including 17 in the third period period, to lead the Solar Bears to a 4-0 blanking over the Greenville Road Warriors at the Amway Center on Wednesday night. The Solar Bears took an early lead less than two minutes into the first period. D Derick Martin fired a slap shot from the blue line and F Rob Mignardi picked up the rebound and snuck a shot into the net to give Orlando a 1-0 lead. Mignardi scored his second goal of the night at 5:54 in the frame. RW Justin Levac's pass was deflected off the boards and in front of the net allowing Mignardi to slap it home. The Solar Bears held on to their 2-0 lead for the remainder of period. F Ryan Berad widened Orlando's lead to 3-0 with a shorthanded goal in the second period. Martin pushed the puck up to Berard coming out of the penalty box, who slipped it passed Greenville G Scott Stajcer with 3:59 remaining in the second period. With under three minutes to go in second frame F Derrick Burnett circled around the cage and made a centering pass to Wilson who then fired the puck home with 1:26 to go in the second stanza. The Solar Bears would close out the second period with a 4-0 lead. With a scoreless third period the Orlando Solar Bears ended the contest with the 4-0 victory over the Road Warriors. Despite registering 17 shots on goal during the period, Greenville could not solve Killeen. The Solar Bears netminder ended the contest stopping all 43 Greenville shots on goal for his second shutout of the season and the second one of the season for Orlando.Notes:The 43 saves by Killeen was the most saves by a Solar Bears goaltender while earning a shutout this season... Orlando returned home today after playing their last six games on the road... Five Solar Bears made their home debuts tonight, as D Jason Cohen, F Brett Hartung, F Ryan Berard, F Nick McParland, and F Kyle Beattie all played their first games on home ice. Beattie also made his pro debut tonight, while F Ryan Berard's second period goal was his first on home ice... Orlando improved to 2-0-0-2 against Greenville on home ice... With 19 home wins this season (in 32 home games), Orlando is just one win shy of 20 at home. They have a .656 winning percentage on home ice with a 19-9-1-3 record...
