CARON AND MIGNARDI RETURN FROM HOUSTON

Hannu Toivonen Heads to Europe

Orlando, FL - The Orlando Solar Bears announced today that FRob Mignardi and D Josh Caron have been returned to the teamfrom their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Houston Aeros,while the team has suspended G Hannu Toivonen as he has electedto leave the Solar Bears to pursue opportunities inEurope.Mignardi was called up to the Aeros on December 13, and hassince played in 14  games scoring one goal and adding oneassist. He has played in 44 AHL games in his professionalcareer, tallying five points on three goals and one assist. TheRichmond Hill, Ontario, native has played in 25 games for theSolar Bears this season, striking for five goals and fiveassists for 10 points. He has scored the game-winning goal ontwo occasions, helping the Solar Bears to a 5-3 win over Elmiraon November 10, and a 4-2 win over Kalamazoo on November17.

Caron was recalled to the Aeros onJanuary 6, playing in one game against the Texas Stars. He hasplayed 11 games in the AHL this season, his first as a pro,picking up seven penalty minutes (PIM). The 6'4", 215 lbs.defenseman has dressed for 20 games with the Solar Bears,notching one goal and one assist to go  along with 39PIM.Toivonen played in 11 Solar Bears games, collecting a 2-7-0-0record along with a 3.93 GAA and .888 save percentage.For the current roster, click here.
