Goaltender Evan Fitzpatrick shined in a 43-save shutout, and rookie Spencer Kersten scored the only goal of the game at 12:22 of overtime to put the Solar Bears in a 1-0 series lead with a 1-0 win Sunday afternoon in Greenville.
Game Two: Orlando Solar Bears 2 at Greenville Swamp Rabbits 4 F
The Swamp Rabbits finally got to Solar Bears goaltender Evan Fitzpatrick as they broke his shutout streak at 94:44 with an early second period goal. Down by two goals heading into the third period, the Solar Bears fought back with two goals of their own scored by Brayden Low and Spencer Kersten, however the Rabbits regained the lead less than a minute later and didn't look back from there, knocking off the Bears, 4-2.
Game Three: Greenville Swamp Rabbits 1 at Orlando Solar Bears 2 F/OT
The Orlando Solar Bears prevailed in overtime for the second time in this series with the Greenville Swamp Rabbits and took a two games to one series lead Friday night in front of 8,483 at Kia Center in Orlando. After a power play goal for the Swamp Rabbits opened the scoring in the first, Luke Boka tied the game for Orlando in the second. After a scoreless overtime, veteran forward Darik Angeli scored the overtime goal at 12:06.
Game Four: Greenville Swamp Rabbits 5 at Orlando Solar Bears 3 F
Led by two goals and an assists from Tanner Eberle, the Greenville Swamp Rabbits tied their first round series with the Orlando Solar Bears Saturday night with a 5-3 decision in Orlando. Spencer Kersten scored twice for the Solar Bears, who mounted a third period comeback, but fell short.
Game Five: Greenville Swamp Rabbits 5 at Orlando Solar Bears 6 F/OT
Battling back from 3-1, 4-2, and 5-3 deficits, the Orlando Solar Bears won their third game of the series in overtime by a 6-5 score. Brayden Low provided the overtime goal at 1:40 of the extra time. Tyler Bird recorded a goal and an assist, while Marc-Andre Gaudet and Jaydon Dureau each recorded two assists.
