Solar Bears add forward Vincent Dunn

The Orlando Solar Bears have agreed to terms with Vincent Dunn for the 2018-19 season.

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Orlando Solar Bears have agreed to terms with forward Vincent Dunn for the 2018-19 season.

Dunn, 22, joins the Solar Bears after splitting the 2017-18 season between the Belleville Senators and the Brampton Beast while under contract with the NHL’s Ottawa Senators and Pittsburgh Penguins. In 31 games with the Beast, Dunn recorded 18 points (10g-8a) and 70 penalty minutes. Dunn added four assists and 29 penalty minutes in 17 AHL contests with Belleville.

“Vincent is a skilled forward with some sandpaper to his game,” Solar Bears head coach and general manager Drake Berehowsky said. “He’s got a good offensive touch and thrives on being a pain for opposing players in front of the net.”

In 162 career pro games, Dunn has accumulated 63 points (27g-36a) and 352 penalty minutes.

“I chose to sign with the Solar Bears because I’ve heard nothing but great things about the coaching staff and the entire organization,” Dunn said. “They’re a team that has consistently been in the playoff hunt, something I have yet to experience in my pro career. I can’t wait for the season to get started!”

Prior to turning pro, the native of Hull, Quebec played for the Rimouski Océanic, Gatineau Olympiques and Val-d’Or Foreurs of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, where he registered 148 points (80g-68a) and 501 penalty minutes in 205 games.

Dunn was originally a fifth-round selection (#138 overall) of the Ottawa Senators in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.
