Nikolas Brouillard records four-point night; Findlay scores three points
NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Orlando Solar Bears (2-2-0-0) earned their first road win of the season on the strength of a six-goal run and a four-point night from rookie Nikolas Brouillard, as they defeated the South Carolina Stingrays (1-4-1-0) by a 6-2 score on Tuesday night at the North Charleston Coliseum.

The Stingrays took the initial lead when John Parker dropped a pass to Steven McParland at the circle and the forward beat Ryan Massa with a wrist shot at 5:44.
The Solar Bears quickly responded when Nikolas Brouillard blasted a shot from the point past Adam Carlson at the nine-minute mark, and then took the lead less than two minutes on the power play as Brouillard fed Patrick Watling for a one-timer at the right circle that eluded Carlson at 10:57.
The Solar Bears continued to widen their lead in the second period, as Eric Faille redirected a pass from Brouillard to bury his first of the season at 1:37.
Denver Manderson then sprang Findlay for a breakaway that resulted in the forward tucking the puck through the five-hole of Carlson at 3:54, forcing the Stingrays to replace their starting goaltender with Parker Milner, but the change did not stop the bleeding as Manderson one-timed a Brouillard pass for a power-play goal at 5:09.
Brenden Miller added his first of the season off a feed from the left circle by Watling at 6:31 to make it 6-1.
The Solar Bears surrendered a goal to Marcus Perrier as the forward stood to the left of Massa and batted in a behind-the-net pass from McParland at 9:59 to bookend the scoring.
Massa earned the win with 24 stops on 26 shots against; Carlson took the loss with eight saves on 12 shots in 23:54 of work, while Milner made 12 saves on 14 shots in 36:06 of relief.
