TONIGHT: The Solar Bears (4-8-3-0) return home to the ARS.com Rink at Amway Center for a two-game set against the South Carolina Stingrays (10-2-2-0). Orlando won the 2016-17 regular season series against South Carolina by going 4-3-1-0 against their South Division opponent – the Solar Bears will face the Stingrays a total of 11 times this season (five home, six road).
WINQUIST SETS SIGHTS ON FRANCHISE POINTS STREAK MARK: With two assists on Wednesday at Jacksonville, Joshua Winquist claimed his stake to the longest assist streak in team history at eight games (12a) – he still has five more games to go to match the longest points streak in team history, currently shared by Greg Miller and Denver Manderson.
POSPISIL TAKEN OFF IR: Rookie forward Kristian Pospisil could make his home debut for Orlando tonight after being removed from the injured reserve. Posipisil had been sidelined since sustaining an injury in Orlando’s 4-3 overtime win at Allen on Oct. 22. At the time of his injury, the Toronto Marlies-contracted winger had recorded three goals on only six shots to lead the ECHL in shooting percentage (50%).
NELSON TRADED TO KOMETS: The Solar Bears have traded forward Logan Nelson to the Fort Wayne Komets in exchange for future considerations; Nelson appeared in seven games for Orlando and recorded three assists and two penalty minutes after being acquired from the Norfolk Admirals.
